Who this policy covers

This policy explains how [COMPANY NAME] ("Europaskool", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data for anyone who uses this website, whether as a self-study learner, a student in a class, a teacher, or an administrator.

What data we collect

Account information: name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text) for registered accounts.

Learning activity: lesson completions, quiz scores, XP, streaks, and flashcard review history, so your progress can be tracked and shown back to you.

Class data: if you're enrolled in or teaching a class, we store enrollment records, assignment submissions, grades, and class stream posts.

Enquiry submissions: if you use our Contact form, we collect your name, email, enquiry type, and message.

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

Account and learning data is processed to provide the service you've asked for (fulfilling our contract with you). Enquiry submissions are processed with your consent, given when you submit the Contact form.

Who else processes your data

We use the following third-party processors to run this service:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting and our database (Cloudflare D1).
  • Google Forms / Sheets — receiving and storing Contact form submissions.
  • Jitsi Meet — powering live video classes (Jitsi has its own privacy terms for the video call itself).

These providers may process data outside your country of residence as part of their global infrastructure.

Cookies

We use a single, strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required for this — strictly-necessary cookies are exempt under GDPR/ePrivacy rules. If that changes in the future, this policy and our cookie notice will be updated accordingly.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account (see below), we delete your personal data except where we're required to retain records by law.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for anything based on consent, like enquiries)

To exercise any of these rights, use our Contact form and choose "Data Request", or, if you're logged in, use the request action on your Account page. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Europaskool is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
